Overcoming Bureaucracy

On 26 October, a few dozen of us from across and beyond the Air Force gathered to talk about how we might overcome bureaucracy in order to accelerate positive change. On this page, we will share some of the outputs of that event. The first two entries that you'll see here are the processed outputs from Austin and Daniel on their blogs, and after that, you can find the complete video of the event with a summary of time hacks within the video below that.

Check out Austin Wiggins' talk from the event and subsequent exploration of the subject of The Futures of Bureaucracy:

Read Daniel Hulter's blog post about when bureaucracy is rational and when we need pilots instead

Here you can find the complete video of the event (except the part that I screwed up and failed to record (this is Daniel))

Time hacks:0:00-11:48 -- Daniel Hulter intros, offering rules, intent, etc
11:48-20:20 -- Stephanie Pileggi on the history and meaning of Bureaucracy
20:20-34:00 -- Alea Nadeem on Women's Initiatives Team success stories
36:00-42:11 -- Daniel Hulter on Machines vs Pilots

Still haven't had enough?Jump on the Miro board where we did the planning, took notes, and stored survey responses (from both before and after the event). Maybe add your own while you watch the video...Maybe create your own content derived from what we did here and tell us about it!
